Ann Pickard is inspired by Dismaland to create edible art
Renowned Weston-super-Mare based sugarcraft artist and Banksy fan, Ann Pickard, has taken inspiration from Dismaland Bemusement Park to create her own piece of edible art in the form of a ‘Dismal Wedding Cake’. Totally handcrafted and inspired by her love of Weston-super-Mare (the location of Dismaland), Ann has created this Iced Art fruit wedding cake celebrating many of the famous and infamous landmarks of the town. Using only her outstanding sugarcraft skills (no moulds or expensive equipment) and to raise money for her local hospice - Weston Hospicecare which supported her family during recent bereavement.
The cake depicts a dramatic wedding scene against the background of iconic features of Weston-super-Mare and the Dismaland Bemusement Park. Ann makes 100s of wedding cakes every year, but this was a chance to use her imagination and creative skills in a new way.
